About

A shared pair, not another bundle.

Shared Pair is building versioned Electron runtimes and compatible Linux desktop packages. It is an independent project, not part of Electron, OpenJS, Debian, or Ubuntu.

The name

A covalent bond concentrates electron density between centres through electron sharing. The 2c–2e motif gives the project its shared-pair language.

Start small

Begin with Debian-family packages, one supported runtime line, and a few applications we can test properly.

More than smaller downloads

The project should also make updates more consistent, test results easier to inspect, and security fixes faster to ship.
